The purpose of the NTIDAABOD is to promote alumni activities that assist RIT, NTID and the NTID Alumni Association. The new board members met for the first time on May 1, 2009, and formed five committees:

• Executive & Nominating Committee – Erin Esposito, Howard Mann, Angela Officer, Christine Corrado and Matthew Driscoll
• Alumni Programming Committee – Chair, Matthew Driscoll, NTID Alumni Relations director
• Communications Committee – Chair, Angie Officer
• Development Committee – Chair, Howard Mann
• Student/Alumni-in-Training Committee – Chair, Erin Esposito

The NTID Alumni Association will grow by inviting diverse groups of alumni to become members of our board of directors. There are so many talented and enthusiastic RIT/NTID alumni, and we intend to capitalize on their talents, including our younger alumni. In the days ahead, we will examine ways to strengthen our ability to serve.

We need your support and participation—so join us! We welcome your input on activities and events. Visit the NTIDAA website to meet the board and learn more about the events and services we offer to alumni. Better still, meet the board in person at RIT Brick City Homecoming October 9 -11.

Alumni in the Rochester, N.Y., area enjoyed a picnic on Sunday, Sept. 13, at Brighton Town Park. More than 65 alumni attended the event, and raised more than $600 for the NTIDAA Endowed Scholarship Fund. Among those who gathered were Patty Starr, SVP ’75; Mary Olijnyk, SVP ’74, ’77; David Williams and Tracy Willard, SVP ’78, ’86.

NTID Alumni Reception in Washington, D.C.

Alumni in the Washington, D.C., area attended a reception on Friday, July 31, at The Art Gallery Grille. Dr. T. Alan Hurwitz and Matthew Driscoll presented news and information about RIT/NTID to nearly 40 alumni who attended the event. Among those at the event were Charmaine (Jacobs) Hlibok, ’94; Rob Rice, ’94, ’97; and Chris Knigga, SVP ’89, ’93.

Reception and “Getting Ahead in your Career” Workshop

Alumni and guests in the Chicago area attended a reception and workshop on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Dave & Buster’s. Kathleen Dollinger-Meyer, SVP ’75, and Karen Downs, both senior employment advisors from the NTID Center of Employment, hosted the reception and facilitated the workshop. Among the more than 15 alumni who attended were Sam, SVP ’97, ’04 and Julie, SVP ’96, ’00, ’02 Russotto; Dana Murray, SVP ’74, ’77; and Lisa Louise Roth, SVP ’82, ’85.

Alumni support is critical to help close the gap between college costs and what is covered by tuition. You can choose to support a specific program or an endowed scholarship fund.
