I can not believe that 11 weeks of school has flown by! I am getting nervous that the finish line is getting closer! I have been so busy trying to catch up with all of my friends and be like, “I wanna have lunch with you tomorrow and you the next day and you gotta go out with me!” Also, I Ihave been traveling so much. Literally every weekend I’m always on the road. I just came back from North Carolina. Whoo, that was a grueling 11 hours of driving. I am grabbing every opportunity to travel before the real life hits me. Then I wont be able to travel as much I can.
I am also looking forward to the Thanksgiving break! I am driving out to Indianapolis for Thanksgiving to see my stepsister. She moved out there almost one year ago. I miss her dearly! The funny thing is, I told my mom that I was going out to Indianapolis for Thanksgiving. My mom said that was fine, then the following day my mom texted me and said, “I don’t want to spend Thanksgiving without you! So, she is driving out to Indianapolis to spend Thanksgiving with me and my stepsister… and….. she’s bringing the dog.. so I guess the family is going to be at Indianapolis instead of Pennsylvania, haha.
Spring semester is nearing to end. I can not believe that this year went by so fast! It was like a blink of a eye that my third year is almost over. It is kind of bittersweet that I will never be able to go back to my freshman year because it was probably the most fun and exciting year for me! I am graduating with my AS degree in three weeks! Then next year my bachelor’s degree! Reality is coming very soon for me. I am actually looking forward to that, but at the same time I am scared to start my real life! College and school was always a bubble for me, a safety bubble, but soon that is going to be popped and I am nervous!
I wanted to share my spring break adventures since I forgot to mention about that. My friend Jason and I decided to make a 1,500 mile-trip to Florida at the last minute. It was so cold and miserable for a few weeks and we decided that we were sick of the cold. I decided to change my oil and I asked my friend Jason to go to Florida and that’s what we did. We left at 4:00 am in the morning and drove all the way to North Carolina as our first stop. We stayed over at our friends’ place in North Carolina, then headed out to Florida the next morning. It was awesome when we arrived there. It was sunny and beautiful 80 degree weather. Then the next day it rained for four days straight. Jason and I were so mad that it rained all week in Daytona Beach. We finally decided to drive over to the west side of the Florida which was a lot sunnier than the east coast. We were overwhelmed with the excitement of the warm, sunny and sandy beach. We ended up burning ourselves to lobster red and we paid the price the next day. We were screaming in pain and we had to deal with the sunburn all the way back to Rochester. We drove back to Rochester nonstop and by the time we entered Rochester around 4:00 am in the morning it snowed so hard. Going from 80-degree weather to 10-degree weather really stunk.
Lately, it has been so cold in Rochester, dipping into the minus weather. I think mother nature has mistaken the weather here as Antarctica instead of Rochester. Thank god my new house has a garage so I can just pull up inside the garage and keep my car warm, haha. Seriously, I think Rochester needs to get back to its usual weather in the 30s and not the below zero temperatures. Other than that, it is week four and my classes are going pretty well and I’m taking two math courses. They are not too bad so far, but I can feel it becoming harder and harder as the semester goes. I am not a math person AT ALL!
The past weekend was really busy. I was moving into my new house and we moved into the house when it was freezing…not cool at all. When we arrived at the house with the moving truck the whole driveway was buried with snow, and the truck could not get up the driveway. We had to shovel the whole snow off the driveway, but luckily our new neighbor was so nice to help snow blow our driveway so we could get up the driveway. Shout out to our new neighbor, Tom, thanks for helping! We have a long way to go until the house is filled up with furniture.
By the way, my car temperature indicates that it is minus 6 degrees outside today..so please, everyone, dress warm and be smart with your driving skills! It’s so cold that the roads become icy and slippery. Also, wear pants, not shorts! It is way too cold to wear shorts outside!
It was one long break! Well I’m glad to be back from the break and start learning! I spent most of my break catching up on my sleep and seeing friends! It is so nice to have the break to unwind for a bit before continuing for another four months of school. Anyway, I also went skiing for the first time in three years at Bristol Mountain and it was so much fun. I used to be a ski Instructor at Snow Mountain in Pennsylvania and I sure did forget some techniques how to ski, but I picked them right up as soon I got on the slopes. It is like riding a bicycle, once you learn, you will never forget.
As the first week of school started, it went very well and I love all of my classes, but this semester I’m taking two math courses, statistics and calculus..ekkkk! But thank god I have good teachers for those courses. As I was finishing up Thursday classes last week I got a text message about a kitten that my friend found on the streets in downtown. He seemed so scared and needed a home and after seeing his face and I just caved in and I brought him home. I guess I’m a new cat owner. I am definitely new to all of this “cat owner” title. He does take up a lot of my time and I spend long hours taking care of him because he is a wild kitten around 10 weeks old. He is a very fearful cat and he is always scared of everyone, so it is a very interesting experience for me to deal with him. I’m learning to have patience and it’s a new learning experience everyday with him. As I have had him now for about five days, he finally has stopped clawing me and biting me. He is more comfortable with me, but still is scared with others.
As of right now my goal is to actually have him come to me when I call him. Let’s hope that happens soon.
I went home for Thanksgiving. It was awesome to see my whole family again! It was filled with a bunch of surprises because my cousin brought two dogs and they were so cute! one of them was a Bischon Frise and a beagle mix with Jack Russell. They were so small and they scurried around my house while my little cousins were chasing after them. The dinner was fantastic and we all had our fill. My grandma usually would shout to all of us “Pie time” right after we just finished eating and all of us would groan in pain after eating so much food. Then she would start looking around for the pies, but luckily my mom was smart enough to hide the pies so we wouldn’t be forced to eat it for her sake, haha. The other surprise was my sister bought a brand new SUV. It’s a 2014 Subaru Forester and she loves it! She worked hard enough to pay for that and I’m so proud of her! Its all white and its fully loaded with all of the bells and whistles. She keeps saying there are so many buttons to push in this SUV. My parents also finished the new addition of the house. It is a new family room and oh my god, it is gorgeous and it has heated floors. I don’t think I’m able to get off this floor because it is so warm! It also helps to warm up the room because we got hit by those bad winter storms in the northern Pennsylvania region. I enjoyed watching the white out weather and winter is absolutely beautiful weather, but it is not my favorite time of the year because of the cold. I am not a big fan of Cold!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
October flew by so quick. I am looking forward to the upcoming holiday, Thanksgiving! Remember, it is on the 27th of November. My step-sister makes a killer stuffing. It is made from scratch with some stuff she puts in it, haha. My mom also makes an awesome turkey. She puts pineapple on it and it tastes so good. Usually we have our table full with foods and by the end of the dinner, it is usually empty. I tend to go for the stuffing, turkey, sweet potatoes and the coleslaw. Mouthwatering foods! I absolutely can not wait to eat that food! At the end of dinner all of us are in a food coma. It sure takes us a while to get up and start moving after we have finished our feast. Can’t wait for this year!
I had a stressful and long week due to a few exams, and they were really brain racking exams. I hope I did well on them. I’m not really good with math at all, but I continue to try my best. I also had a long weekend because of RIT’s homecoming! I had my family come in town and stay at my house on Friday. My mom brought my two crazy black labs as well. They were so hyper to see me because it has been a while since I saw them. They literally ran all over the house and played with my roommate’s dog, Penny. After the craziness settled down we watched a movie called “Captain America: The White Soldier” and it was an awesome movie to watch! Lots of action going on! The following morning we went to the hockey game and it was so much fun catching up with all of my friends who came in town to watch the game. I was a little disappointed that RIT lost (score was 5-1). I think they will do better the next game! After the game we went to Dinosaur BB-Q in downtown Rochester. We reserved tables at Dino BB-Q and the reservation table was set for 15, but some how we got two extra people to join in for dinner. We had to tightly cram ourselves on a table that fits for 14. In the end we enjoyed our delicious dinner. After the dinner we went straight home because everyone was in food coma because of the big dinner we had!
