Honors Trip Update

Hello Everyone, it’s been awhile since my last posting, so sorry about that! It’s been a busy last few weeks, and I just wanted to give everyone an update to what I’ve been up to.

Last weekend I was in Boston on an honors trip with the interpreting program, visiting Northeastern University for their 20th annual ASL Festival and workshop weekend. The festival was so amazing, I had the opportunity to see so many different ASL performances! I was able to see Patrick Graybill, MJ Bienvenu and the hilarious Rosa Lee perform live among other amazing actors and actresses.

After the festival on Friday, it was time to get to work at the semantics workshop hosted by Dennis Cokely and Patrick Graybill. We learned about the meaning of words and I got a better grasp on how to become a successful interpreter.

We also stayed in the Boston Plaza Hotel, where I had my own room, and tried a few authentic Boston restaurants and eateries while we were in the area between all the festivities.
