Spring time

Hello folks,

Four weeks left to go until final exam week! The semester flew by so quickly. My “to-do” list is growing on a weekly basis.  At this point, I am starting to feel excited for the summer, because I plan to go to the University of Tennessee for my internship.

All of the clubs are hosting nomination nights and recruiting students for new executive boards. Being a member of an executive board provides many opportunities including self-personal growth and networking opportunities. For example, I served on the E-board of the Latin American Deaf Club. I found an abundance of support from my peers and help in finding my identity. I enjoy working as an active citizen and making a difference within the RIT community.

I’m so looking forward to the club banquets at the end of the year. Student clubs and organizations host  banquets to thank their members and look back at their achievements during the academic year. The different cuisine offered by each of the clubs is always delicious and marvelous. I get to enjoy these different cuisines for free, ha! I won the president/vice president candidate in the NTID Student Congress election.

The weather in Rochester, New York has been nice, which makes it hard to focus on my assignments and projects. I used to do homework in the early evening during winter time. I usually started my assignments around 4:30 p.m. However, I’m procrastinating on working on my assignments now and don’t usually start until about 8:00 p.m. due to daylight savings time this spring. As a result, I needed to change my study habits.

SpringFest and Imagine RIT Innovation + Creativity Festival are coming up in a few weeks. SpringFest is all about the campus coming together for a weekend of fun. Imagine RIT is a campus-wide event that showcases the innovative and creative spirit of RIT students, faculty and staff. Visitors experience the breadth and depth of RIT through interactive presentations, hands-on demonstrations, exhibitions, and research projects set up throughout campus. Freebies are provided, too. Thousands of people from the region visit the Imagine RIT festival every year. Come check it out on May 6, 2017!
