Heather attended Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, from which she graduated in 1993. Her teaching experience includes teaching history at Rochester School for the Deaf; Science at National Deaf Academy in Mt. Dora, Florida; and ASL at Rush-Henrietta school district in NY. Heather is also an adjunct faculty member at Monroe Community College.
Heather is a co-founder of Rochester Deaf Mothers Club (RDMC). Founded in 2000, RDMC now includes more than 100 Deaf mothers and many Deaf/CODA children. Heather enjoys making jewelry and reading books.
