INTENSIVE ASL FOR NEW FACULTY #250

Description

    This course is designed for faculty who are new employees of the National Technical Institute for the Deaf and who have no/limited previous knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL). It focuses on ASL linguistic features, cultural protocols, and core vocabulary for participants to develop conversational skills in ASL. Within an intensive instructional framework, the course covers content and skills taught in ASL I, II, and III within our regular curriculum. (Please refer to course descriptions for an overview of content and skills included.) Extended responsibilities include 8 hours of outside of class practice per week utilizing the Self-Instruction Lab and other learning resources as assigned by the instructor.
