About the Department

The Business Studies Department provides challenging, high-quality programs designed to give you the skills you need for success in your career. As a student in the Business Studies Department, you will build technical knowledge and skills in your field, and you will have the opportunity to develop the essential “soft skills” that employers demand. You will also learn from a diverse faculty who have a variety of business experience, and have the opportunity to gain your own valuable real-world experience before you graduate by participating in a cooperative work experience.

The Business Studies Department also offers students a competitive advantage in today’s job market by offering courses that prepare students for certification in Microsoft® Office applications software.

    Congratulations to RIT/NTID student Chenae Laldee who was named Miss Black Deaf America, a position she will hold until August 2015! Laldee competed in the pageant, which consists of platform, talent, style and interview portions. Laldee received an associate degree in Applied Support Technology, and now is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies focusing on organizational change and leadership with a concentration in human resources and political science. During her time at RIT, Laldee has been involved in the RIT/NTID Ebony club and the RIT/NTID Caribbean Deaf club and is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
