Keith Banks, Jr.

Location

Orlando, FL
Major:
Associate+Bachelor's Degree in International Hospitality & Service Management
Why I chose my major:

I have a friendly personality, and I love working with people. Plus, I’m from Orlando Fla., so I live near many restaurants, hotels and huge amusement parks such as Universal Studios and Walt Disney World, which sparked my interest in the tourism industry

Why I chose RIT:
Friendly interaction between deaf, hard-of-hearing and hearing students. RIT was the only college that had my major along with support services that I needed to be successful in the classroom.
What I like best about RIT:

I’m able to learn, grow and succeed in life.

Best part of living on campus:

Being involved in many clubs and going to many events. There's always something to do here.

Dream job:
Working at Walt Disney World Resort or Universal Studios.
Favorite spot on campus:

CSD Student Development Center.

Favorite professor:
John Panara, because he is a great teacher that is willing to put forth the effort to help his students improve their English and to succeed in other liberal arts courses.
What excites me about RIT:

Campus life including all the activities, clubs, events and programs that are offered here.

My most memorable experience at RIT/NTID:
To network with alumni and learning and working while in college through a co-op.
If I could tell prospective students only one thing about RIT/NTID, it would be:

Go for it!

Favorite place to eat in Rochester:
Applebees
Favorite movie:
“Leverage”
Fun fact about me:

I was crowned Deaf Teen America in 2011, I signed the National Anthem at an NFL Pro-Bowl game, I love to smile, and I'm writing a script for a play.

One thing I’ve always wanted to do but never have:
Travel to New York City.
The one thing I can't live without:
Computers
