Calendar Conversion

Last year RIT/NTID made the decision to move from our current 10-week quarter system to a 15-week semester-based academic calendar starting fall 2013.

As part of the conversion to semesters, we have pledged the following to students and parents. Given satisfactory academic progress:

  • No student will lose progress toward his/her degree due to the transition.
  • No student’s graduation will be delayed as a result of this change.
  • No student will see any increase in tuition or fees related to the transition.

Every student who transitions from the quarter to the semester system will receive an Individualized Advisement Plan for the transition. The IAP will be developed during a meeting between the student and his/her academic advisor. It will help students understand how calendar conversion could have an impact on their current academic program.
