Register today for the free one-day Steps to Success workshop for deaf and hard-of-hearing 5th to 9th grade African-American, Latino and Native American students and their parents. Participants will get important information about what to do in middle and high school to prepare for college.

Workshop Agenda

Morning program may include: A workshop for students and parents by RIT/NTID faculty/counselors:

  • Things to know and do in middle school that will help you in high school and college
  • Leadership development
  • Awareness of career goals
  • Cultural awareness

Noon: Free lunch and conversation

Afternoon program for parents may include: A workshop for parents by RIT/NTID Admissions representatives:

  • What parents need to know and do about college
  • IEP process
  • Information about RIT/NTID
  • Financial Aid Information

Afternoon program for students: A panel of deaf professionals will discuss their paths to success and answer questions.
