NTID Counseling Services

To schedule individual appointments with counselors, students may sign-up on schedules posted on their counselor's office door. Many counselors also maintain "open hours" which are drop-in times requiring no appointment.

Services That We Provide:

  • Academic Advising

    Course planning and selection in collaboration with NTID faculty and department chairpersons

  • Academic Counseling

    Learning styles, study skills, time management, referral

  • Individual Counseling

    Adjustment to college, relationship issues, dorm life/roommate concerns, addictions, self-esteem issues, sexuality and sexual identity concerns

  • Group Counseling & Instruction

    Adjustment concerns, identity concerns, relationships, support groups, career exploration and decision making, academic skill development, and learning strategies

  • Career Assessment

    Aptitudes, career interests, career maturity, psychological type/temperament, work values

  • Career Resource & Testing Center (CRTC)

    Educational and career information; assessment of students' aptitude, interests, learning style, career maturity, study skills; print, video, and computer based career development resources, i.e. The Occupational Outlook Handbook
