Because support for deaf and hard-of-hearing students at RIT is federally funded, attending RIT is an exceptional value - you receive a top-quality education at a substantially reduced tuition rate. Deaf and hard-of-hearing students who attend RIT pay about one-third of the tuition that hearing RIT students pay. And when you select an RIT 2+2 program, you're also eligible for a scholaship of up to $3,500 per year for up to five years.
Here's how the scholarship works:
- You must be accepted into an RIT 2+2 program, and you must have an ACT score of 18 or above to be considered.
- While in your associate degree program, you're eligible for a $2,500 scholarship per year for up to three years.
- Upon transfer into your bachelor's degree program, you'll be eligible to continue receiving $2,500 per year plus an additional $1,000 per year.
- While at RIT you must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher for scholarship renewal.
These special scholarships are available for new students entering the 2+2 program, but the number of scholarships available is limited, so apply early.
