The Automation Technologies Program will prepare you for a career in the applied robotics or automated manufacturing industries.

As an AT student, you’ll work with skilled faculty and learn to operate a wide range of automated equipment, and to install, troubleshoot, repair, upgrade and maintain automated systems and their components. You’ll train in a cross-disciplinary environment that includes the electrical/electronic, mechanical and computer technologies highly valued in the industry today. State-of-the art equipment like custom pneumatic/hydraulic trainers, electro-mechanical devices, industrial robots and controllers, integrated automated systems, programmable logic controllers and safety equipment will prepare you to work in a competitive environment. You’ll be able to perform computer simulations and complete assignments independently using specialized software.

With an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or Associate in Occupational Studies degree in Automation Technologies-Robotics, you can enter the workforce directly after graduation. With an AAS degree you can apply to other colleges at RIT to earn a bachelor's degree in such fields as nanotechnology, manufacturing engineering technology or microelectronic engineering technology.
