The Computer Aided Drafting Technology (CADT) program will prepare you for a rewarding career as a CAD technician. The CADT program offers you two options—one in the architecture, engineering and construction (A/E/C) field, and the other in the manufacturing industry.
If you select the A/E/C option, you might work with architects or engineers on projects such as buildings, highways, or bridges. Construction companies and building suppliers also hire A/E/C CAD technicians.
If you select the manufacturing industry, any company that designs products, such as cars, bicycles, cameras, computers, furniture, heaters, airplanes, or toys, will have manufacturing CAD technicians providing support for their engineers and designers.
Graduates of the CADT program earn an Associate in Occupational Studies (A.O.S.) or Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree and leave well qualified to take their place in the architectural, engineering, construction, or manufacturing industries.
