Don Beil, of Pittsford, N.Y., is the Executive Assistant to the President, NTID. A full professor, Beil has worked at NTID since 1975. Beil has served as chair of the Applied Computer Technology Department, acting director of the School of Business Careers, and acting chair of NTID’s Business Support Team. He is a recipient of both the RIT Eisenhart Award for Outstanding Teaching and the Award of Excellence from the NTID Deaf Professional Group.

He has a bachelor's degree in Economics from Washington University at St. Louis and a master's degree in computer science from Washington State University. He also has a Certificate in Planning Programming Budgeting Systems received following a year-long course at the Graduate School of Industrial Administration at Carnegie Mellon University.

Beil spent one year at the University of Michigan Law School before he joined the Peace Corps, spending two years in the Somali Republic in East Africa. At the Peace Corps' Washington office, he was a systems analyst working with what's now known as the Office of Management and Budget. He has authored 11 college textbooks and trade books and is an experienced technical writer.
