DPG Mission Statement
The Deaf Professional Group strives to represent both the collective voice and the diverse voices of Deaf and Hard of Hearing employees at RIT Advocating for the rights of all Deaf Professionals in formal and informal contexts of RIT's diverse institutional community.
DPG Goals
1. To serve as an advocacy and support group for Deaf Professionals at RIT.
2. To provide a forum for Deaf Professionals to discuss issues related to their roles as professionals and employees in the RIT working environment.
3. To collaboratively assist the RIT community in promoting an optimal and healthy environment in which diversity and pluralism is valued, encouraged and supported.
4. To consistently foster mentorship and networking opportunities for Deaf professionals to gain leadership skills and professionals development as well as provide leadership in the RIT community.
DPG Deaf Professionals
DPG recognizes all deaf individuals employed at RIT/NTID, including faculty, professional staff and general staff, as Deaf Professionals, and as members of DPG.
