Be Amazed. Be Astonished. Be Inspired.
NTID News - April 24, 2009
Join us May 2 on the Rochester Institute of Technology campus for the Imagine RIT Innovation and Creativity Festival, a one-of-a-kind annual event offering you, your family and friends a memorable day of education and entertainment through a fusion of technology and the arts.
Hundreds of exhibits and demonstrations by faculty, staff and students, plus musical and theatrical performances and children's activities will wow visitors of all ages.
RIT's National Technical Institute for the Deaf will feature faculty, staff and students demonstrating a variety of projects and creations, including an electric bicycle, a steam locomotive, a mini backhoe and an endless array of scientific experiments and cutting-edge research. There will be dance performances and a stage production in sign language. Visitors will enjoy works on display from deaf artists, demonstrations of an electronic American Sign Language dictionary, and chances for those who don't know sign language to learn a few signs.
RIT's seven other colleges will feature a variety of creative and innovative exhibits and activities as well. Interpreting services will be provided throughout the day. Interpreters will be identified by their brown shirts with an "Interpreter" imprint.
The festival is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will take place rain or shine. Admission is free.
You can learn more by accessing the festival flyer. The Imagine RIT Web site has additional information as well. And, if you want to bring a group, we have made special arrangements.
We look forward to seeing you on May 2!
