Job Description for Marketing and Graphic Design Intern

Children Awaiting Parents and Corbett Adoption Agency have combined to build a stronger identity for families seeking to adopt from the foster care system.  They are working with a multi-media publishing firm and L.Y.F.E Multimedia Group to let people know about their services, and want a student for a marketing internship for both CAP/Corbett and L.Y.F.E., as soon as possible this semester.
 
This internship is a negotiated paid position.  It requires excellent skills in graphic design/social media and writing/communication.
 
Children Awaiting Parents is a national non-profit organization based in Rochester, New York. For the past 45 years, we have helped bring together more than 6,000 adoptive families. We are a small but dedicated group of people that are committed to helping older foster children find permanent, loving adoptive families.
 
L.Y.F.E. Multimedia Group (LMG) is a multi-media firm that specializes in marketing. Ad Placements, Publishing and Production. LMG has produced the publication Our Voice- The Magazine, bi-monthly and has a strong online presence (www.1ourvoicemag.com). We work in the mediums of graphic design, photo journalism with a specialty in marketing.
 
The Position: Marketing and Graphic Design Intern
 
We are looking for an energetic student who loves marketing, advertising and graphic design. The perfect candidate for this position can work independently and has received education in one or more of the following areas: Public Relations, Marketing, Design, Advertising, Photo Journalism, Event Planning, and/or Communications.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Design: Create marketing collateral
  • Writing: Draft copy for newsletter, press releases, testimonials and web content and other printed materials as needed
  • Social Media: Develop and maintain content
  • Event planning: Assist with CAP/Our Voice- The Magazine events
  • Marketing: Creatively reach new audiences through strategic marketing.

 
Details:

  • Dates: Flexible. Ideally, at least a 3-4 month commitment.
  • Hours: Flexible but they must be consistent and reliable. Office is open weekdays 9-5 and we can accommodate your schedule. Intern opportunity is divided between two business locations within the City of Rochester
  • Opportunity to use creativity and gain experience in a broad range of Marketing and Public relations areas at a non-profit, child welfare organization and commercial for profit publishing company.
  • Must have own transportation
  • Marketing Internship is a negotiated paid position.
