Job Description for NTID Online Support Technician

This is a Fall semester co-op.  We are looking for a student with web development skills, experience with Drupal development, and video editing. 
Salary Range:  $17
Desired Start Date:  August 1, 2017
Approximate Hours Per Week:  40
Desired Skills

  • Fluency in American Sign Language required.
  • Experience with web technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX)
  • Experience with video recording and editing
  • Experience with Drupal strongly preferred.


  • Develop and/or maintain Drupal-based websites and software applications.
  • Record and edit video recordings
  • Research/implement accessibility technologies
  • Provide training and orientation to two video studios equipment and software
  • Assist NTID Online Program Operations Coordinator
  • Record and edit videos, including submitting for voice-over and captioning
  • Work with and support faculty and staff with their video production.
  • Participate in meetings
  • Research emerging technology applicable to Online learning

Job Requirements for NTID Online Support Technician

  • Fluency in American Sign Language required.
  • Strong background in programming server-side(PHP) and desktop applications.
  • Advanced understanding in troubleshooting hardware and software
  • Understanding of technologies that encompasses video recording and editing is preferred
  • Good understanding of importance of maintaining issue tracking log/ticket
  • Creative problem-solving skills in providing technical solutions that support desired learning/teaching and access capabilities
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervisions
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
