Job Description for Summer Intern 2018, Public Relations and Marketing

AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies offers paid summer internships to students enrolled in full time undergraduate or graduate degree programs. The College Internship Program is a paid 10-week program. In 2018, the internship program begins June 4th through August 10th.
As an AmeriHealth Caritas intern, you will learn about the health care industry, our Medicaid and Medicare plans, pharmacy benefits management and behavioral health care — and how we are working to improve access to health care for all Americans. You will also join us in building healthy communities through active service projects that support our mission.
Scope of work would include:

  • Health promotion activities
  • Engage in outreach and promotional activities (making calls, inviting members, mailing out flyers and engaging members)
  • Support through event planning (securing vendors, developing logistics, requesting supplies)
  • Assist with data collection
  • Evaluate effectiveness of programs

Job Requirements for Summer Intern 2018, Public Relations and Marketing

Criteria to Apply:

  • Candidates must be enrolled in college degree program and have completed the first year of college by the start of the summer internship program.
  • Undergraduate candidates must be working toward a 2-year or 4-year degree. College graduates interested in an internship must be enrolled full time in a post-graduate program or professional school (e.g. master's program, law school) at the start of the internship program.
  • Candidates must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 GPA scale.
  • Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills:
Organized, friendly, confident. Some computer skills (use of MS Excel), ability to be flexible, manage several priorities and sometimes work unusual work schedule.

  • Solid computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Internet applications.
  • Proficient writing and reading skills
  • Problem solving skills; good oral communication skills and an interest in helping members.
  • Rising Junior or Senior
