Job title and work responsibilities

My job title is Accountant 1, and I work as part of a team to enter all journal entries and upload allocations for income and expenditures for the Georgia Department of Labor. Teamwork and attention to deadlines is critical to my job success.

How my career relates to my degree from RIT/NTID

My major was Applied Accounting and the accounting techniques, terminology and many other things I learned at RIT/NTID, plus the emphasis on teamwork helped me get my job. I realize the importance of being a good team player and of meeting the many deadlines in our department. I have volunteered to come in on my days off and sometimes stay late to help the team get the job done. My next goal is to use what I learned while getting my B.S. degree at RIT to develop additional leadership skills and take on additional and new job duties.
