Am I moving into my permanent housing for the year?

After the conclusion of NSP on Aug. 11, you will have three options. If you select options 1 or 2 below, then yes, upon arrival for NSP you will be moving into your permanent aasigned housing for the school year.

  1. You can remain at RIT in your permanent room until NTID-Support Services Orientation (NSSO) Move-in Day on Aug. 20 and pay $50/day for housing (a total cost of $400) plus meal costs. This will give you the opportunity to remain on campus until all students move-in. During the week you will have the opportunity to meet other students that did not take part in NSP and participate in some SVP activities.
  2. You can remain at RIT in your permanent room and pay $50/day for housing and attend one of the Discover RIT Pre-orientation programs that begin on Aug. 18. The total cost for this option will be $300 for housing on non-program days/nights plus the cost of the DiscoverRIT Program and meal costs. Fees for Discover programs vary by individual program. This will give you an opportunity to remain on campus and participate in fun, small-group projects and activities. These optional programs are a great way to get connected to other campus faculty, staff and resources. Please be aware depending on the program you choose you may miss the last day of the RIT pre-orientation program because you are required to attend the NSSO pre-orientation program on Aug. 21.
  3. You may choose to return home after NSP concludes and return on NSSO Move-in Day on Aug. 20. If you choose this option, please bring only your belongings needed during the NSP program while you are in your NSP room. You will not move-in your permanent belongings to your permanent room until Aug. 20.
