If your student has a hearing aid or cochlear implant and needs some assistance, or if your son or daughter just would like to enhance his or her use of spoken English, trained, certified faculty and staff in the Communication Studies and Services Department are just an e-mail or a visit away.

On-campus audiology services include:

  • Free hearing tests
  • Hearing aid evaluations
  • FM system fittings
  • Hearing aids and hearing aid repairs, custom-made ear molds, batteries
  • Mapping, troubleshooting assistance and listening practice for students with cochlear implants
  • On-campus support network of cochlear implant users that meets regularly for group discussion and social activities

On-campus speech and language services include:

  • Instruction and assistance with equipment and software that provide visual feedback for speech production
  • Automatic speech recognition
  • Conversational practice
