Laurance Warford

Senior Workforce Consultant
League for Innovation in the Community College

Laurance Warford is the Senior Workforce Consultant for the League for Innovation in the Community College, an international organization dedicated to catalyzing the community college movement, and President of Warford and Associates, an educational consulting company.

From 2003 to 2009 he was the project director for the College and Career Transitions Initiative funded by U.S. Department of Education, Office of Vocational and Adult Education and led by the League. 

Currently he is the project director for two additional initiatives; the Walmart Brighter Futures project funded by the WalMart Foundation to help community colleges serve more dislocated workers and a project funded by the MetLife Foundation called Significant Discussions which seeks to assist secondary and postsecondary faculty in curriculum alignment to ease student transitions.

Prior to this, Dr. Warford was vice president for instruction at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon and an administrator at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

He is a nationally recognized workforce and community college expert who has published several articles, books, and book chapters on workforce education and transition to college. He also has made numerous presentations and keynote addresses to national and international audiences. 

Dr. Warford has a bachelor’s degree in business and education and a master’s degree in business and education, both from the University of Northern Iowa, and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Oregon.
