Susan Salvador

Dr. Susan Salvador is Vice President of Student Services, at Monroe Community College (MCC) in Rochester, N.Y. She oversees the areas of athletics, campus events, campus center, counseling and advising, career center, child care center, Damon City Campus student services, discipline, educational opportunity program, financial aid, health services, graduation and certification, housing and residence life, student due process, MCC Association, Inc. and public safety. She has been MCC’s representative to the League for Innovation in the Community College since 2001.

Dr. Salvador served as a contributing author to Learning Reconsidered: A Campus-wide Focus on the Student Experience, a joint National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and American College Personnel Association (ACPA) publication.

Dr. Salvador recently was a finalist for the 2010 Athena Award sponsored by the Rochester Business Alliance Women’s Council. In 2007, she received a Certificate of Merit from the New York State Assembly for her significant contributions to the student personnel profession.

Dr. Salvador was the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to the Profession Award from the College Student Personnel Association in New York in 2006. She received the 2005 Diamond Award from ACPA and was named 2004 Woman of the Year by the American Association for Women in Community Colleges. She was inducted into the MCC Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.

Dr. Salvador was  President of the board of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester, 2009 to 2010; Vice President ACPA on 2009 to 2010; President-elect  ACPA on 2010 to 2011; a member of the Board of Trustees for ACPA Educational Leadership Foundation; and a senior student affairs representative for NASPA Community College Advisory Board.

She has a bachelor’s in psychology from Siena College, and a doctorate in higher education/administration from The University of Michigan, a master’s in student personnel/counseling from The Pennsylvania State University.
