Andrew Crawford
Andrew, who grew up on a cattle farm, was found to be deaf at age 10 months and received a cochlear implant when he was 8. He attended mainstreamed schools for much of the time prior to college and attended St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf in Chesterfield, Mo., from third to seventh grade.

Why did you come to RIT/NTID?:
The support services, hearing and deaf communities together, opportunities and goals.
Best thing about college so far:
Meeting diverse people and learning about their cultures and making memories with my friends.
Best thing to do off-campus in Rochester:
Going to Niagara Falls, Buffalo and Canada with my friends and going to Syracuse basketball games.
People may be surprised to know:
...that I am a farmer and I'm a devoted Kentucky sports fan.
Favorite food:
Steak! And halibut from Alaska.
Favorite movie:
"Bourne Ultimatum," "Godfather I, II and III" and "Saving Private Ryan."
Favorite Sport:
Baseball. I played baseball for 13 years.
Clubs:
Intramural softball.
Hobbies/Interests:
Sports, watching ESPN games and hanging out with friends.
Dream Job:
To become an engineer.
Where will you be five years from now?:
Wherever a job takes me, but Kentucky will always be my home.
What would you like to tell the world?:
Just go with the flow and be patient because if you don't, you will miss opportunities.
Advice for incoming RIT/NTID students:
Never say you cannot do it and never let people tell you that. You are on your own and live your life to the fullest!
