LBJ-2756 Alvin Boyd is Special Assistant to the President for Diversity and Inclusion. In this role, he manages NTID diversity initiatives and communications. He also works closely with RIT’s Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion on implementation of NTID-specific Inclusive Excellence initiatives.
Alvin is a graduate of Delgado Community College in New Orleans and South University and A & M College in Baton Rouge. He studied in NTID’s American Sign Language-English Interpretation program and graduated from NTID’s Master of Science program in Secondary Education for Students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. He previously worked in NTID’s Pre-College Outreach and Science and Mathematics Departments.
In addition to serving as Special Assistant for Diversity and Inclusion, Alvin is an instructor in NTID’s Business Studies Department. He mentors African-American, Latino American and Native American (AALANA) students and volunteers for the NTID’s outreach programs. Alvin is a member of RIT’s AALANA Faculty & Staff Association.
