Arrival and Contact Information
We are excited you’ll be traveling to Rochester to participate in the EYF program. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions page to learn more about the details of your week at RIT. Below are a few last minute details to keep in mind when traveling to campus. Please share this information with your parents so they will know how to assist you as you travel/arrive.
- You are responsible for arranging transportation to the program. From the airport, train or bus station, shuttle transportation is available directly to RIT for $18.00 each way (includes fare and tip). Let us know if you want shuttle transportation and we will make reservations. If you want to confirm what you have told us call 585-475-6700 V/TDD 8:30-5 pm Monday – Friday or email: EYFinfo@rit.edu.
- Here is pick-up information for students flying into the Greater Rochester International Airport: When you arrive, go to the lower-level baggage claim area and pick up your bags in you have checked them. Look for the representative from Apple Transportation. This representative will have an EYF sign and will lead you to the Apple Transportation vans that will bring you to RIT. The Apple name is clearly marked on the vehicle doors.
We will have the flight information you provide and can check on flight status and adjust pickup times. If you do not see a representative at the baggage claim area when you arrive, just wait near the baggage claim area for a representative to arrive. In the unlikely event that you don't see a representative after waiting a while, you can ask Airport Security. - Check in – Move in – Registration: Arrive at CSD Student Development Center (Building 55 - see campus map) between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm on the Saturday that the session starts (Session I: July 18; Session II: July 25).
- Contact your parents/guardian when you arrive so they know you made it here safely. While the EYF staff will do our best to answer their calls, move-in day will be very busy for you and us. Contacting your parents/guardian immediately will relieve their concerns and allow you to connect before you become involved in program activities.
- Important phone numbers to use during EYF:
- In an emergency, call Public Safety at 585-475-3333. Tell the officer you are calling about the EYF program and provide the student’s name. Public Safety will connect with EYF staff members and the student as appropriate.
