Professional Fellowship Program

A Tuition-Free Opportunity for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Graduate Students

Feeling stalled in your career path?
Or do you just want to branch out into something new?

Take a giant step forward with a free master’s degree though the Professional Fellowship Program at RIT’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf.

You can apply for a fellowship in a technical program of study at RIT such as science, engineering, computing, graphic design, or printing technology—and get your master’s degree for free. Two fellowship appointments are made each year to qualified deaf and hard-of-hearing graduate students who are pursuing a two- or three-year master’s degree program* at RIT.

The fellowship award includes:

  • Full tuition waver for your master’s degree
  • Up to $15,000 annual stipend paid to you as wages for a part-time career-related internship at RIT
  • Free housing in a single-occupancy room in a residence hall on campus in return for your participation as a role model in student life programs

* If you are pursuing a master’s certificate program you do not qualify for this fellowship.
