The David Smith Memorial Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established to honor the memoriy of David Smith, a second-year student in the NTID Applied Computer Technology program, whose life was cut short in July 2004 by an accident while competing in a national racing event sponsored by the World Karting Association. 

Selection for this scholarship will be based on teh recipient's enrollment as a full-time student in a degree program at RIT/NTID. Recipients must be deaf or hard of hearing, demonstrate financial need and have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average. First preference in selecting recpieints will be for students enrolled in the Applied Computer Tecnology program at NTID, or a degree program it he Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences. 

In the event there are no students meeting the above criteria, the scholarship wil be used to support students most closely meeting the above criteria.
