Frank P. Benz, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2003, this fund provides scholarship to deaf and hard-of-hearing students enrolled in the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, a college of Rochester Institute of Technology. Scholarship recipients must be deaf or hard of hearing and enrolled in NTID or one of the other colleges of RIT. They must be in satisfactory academic standing and deomonstrate financial need. 

Former videp president of RIT, Frank P. Benz, Jr. was a major participant in the construction of RIT's Henrietta campus and in bringing NTID to RIT. He was a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College and received his MBA at Miami University. After leaving RIT, Frank was vice president of Wood and Tower-McGraw Hill from 1970-1988 and vice president of Marshall and Swift from 1988-1994. After his retirement, he moved to Ft. Worth, Texas, where he was residing at the time of his death on May 20, 2003 at the age of 73.
