Mark Morales

Mark Angel Morales grew up as a Deaf Mexican/Aztec in a hearing family near East Los Angeles, California. After graduating from South Hills High School, he enrolled at Gallaudet College in 1979. And also, as a DC native, enrolled at NTID in 1983.

Mark has worked as a professional free-lance interpreter for 27 years. A La Puente native, he is nationally respected as a Deaf Interpreter, International Sign Interpreter, and as a well-known entertainer and presenter.

Mark is also a proud alumnus of NTID's Performing Arts program and Theater Department at Gallaudet College.  Among his many contributions, he has experience in co-directing and acting in stage plays in Rochester and Washington, DC. 

Nationally well known for his “One Deaf Aztec Man Show”, a storytelling show with an emphasis on ASL and International Sign, his previous performances include the NAD Conference in San Antonio in 1998, the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C. in 2001, Deaf Way II in Washington, D.C. in 2002, Emcee of NAD Opening Ceremony 2016 and many more. 

During his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors: camping, hiking, rock climbing, caving, biking, traveling and visiting National and State Parks.  Other hobbies include reading books about archaeology, astronomy, conspiracy theories, secret societies, mysterious places and espionage.  

Mark is the proud father of two children: Mark Angel Morales II and Topaz Lisabel Morales.
