As a Rochester native, I have spent my years growing up in Upstate New York. My family moved an hour west of Rochester to a small town called Albion, where I spent my childhood. I was active in many sports throughout high school—my favorite being competitive swimming.

Post high school, I began my college career at a local state college to pursue a degree in Childhood Education. After my first year, I decided that the college was not a fit and I transferred to RIT for my remaining three years of undergraduate studies. This was the best decision that I ever made. RIT/NTID has the best access services and I didn’t find that anywhere else. I became closely involved with my peers from RIT’s College of Liberal Arts during my studies, and had some of the best professors who made a mark on my life—many of whom I still visit today. Coming in as a shy student, I emerged with a strong and confident spirit. The RIT community has a lot to offer with hundreds of clubs and activities that are bound to spark your interest as it did mine! I made many lasting friendships and memories that I will carry around for a lifetime. I graduated in May 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Professional and Technical Communication (now called Communication).

I was ecstatic to join the admissions team and am passionate about helping YOU find the perfect fit here at RIT/NTID. RIT symbolizes my metamorphosis to the person I am today, and can do the same for you!
