Job Description for Technology Support Specialist

The Technology Support Specialist is the primary resource responsible for supporting end users’ daily use of CSD technology. The Technology Support Specialist provides frontline technical assistance across a variety of team member technology needs, including both hardware and software applications. The Technology Support Specialist provides exemplary support for the user experience across a variety of communication channels, including Slack, email, phone, and other web conferencing systems. The Technology Support Specialist actively monitors and updates CSD’s Helpdesk System, ensuring that tickets that are submitted are managed or escalated with maximum efficiency.
Essential Functions

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for team members seeking technical assistance
  • Actively monitors and supports CSD’s Helpdesk System, ensuring that team member technology needs are resolved or escalated according to established service level expectations. Provides follow up to team members on any ongoing technology requests
  • Builds and manages desktop, laptop, and mobile solutions for internal staff
  • Installs and manages software products such as anti-virus applications, productivity suites, and job specific software tools
  • Performs remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Supports the new hire onboarding experience and provides training to new employees on the appropriate use of CSD technology resources
  • Manages inventory of all CSD technology inventory and provides reports to Technology administrators, as appropriate

Job Requirements for Technology Support Specialist

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of professional experience providing technical support
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field from an accredited college or university; or equivalent professional experience (Preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively using American Sign Language (Preferred)
