Performing Arts Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships are available to students on a yearly basis. A copy of this years scholarship application letter is provided below.
This scholarship was created to recognize accomplishments in the performing arts by deaf students at RIT. Scholarship recipients must be active participants in the performing arts while at NTID. Financial need is a strong consideration when reviewing applications.
Awards of approximately $1,000 each will be made by the NTID Performing Arts Program to both incoming and continuing NTID supported students.
Award winners will be expected to commit themselves to performing arts service by performing in one play production, enrolling in one performing arts class during the academic year, or being involved in a practicum. Participation can be in any area of the performing arts; from acting, design, dance, or back-stage participation for the season’s events.
Letters explaining your background and interest in the award should be sent during the spring semester and before the end of April of each year:
Luane Davis-Haggerty, Ph.D
NTID Performing Arts
52 Lomb Memorial Drive
Rochester, NY 14623-5604
Awards will be credited to the student’s account at the Bursar’s Office during the subsequent fall semester. This will occur in two disbursements; fall, and spring semesters. This is a one-time award. You must re-apply for this scholarship on an annual basis.
